Application Procedures for
The Asia Foreign Study Scholarship –
 Capital University of Economics and Business Program

The Asia Foreign Study Scholarship - Capital University of Economics and Business Program is a partial scholarship program donated to Education Forum for Asia by Capital University of Economics and Business. The Organizing Committee of Education Forum for Asia, the Capital University of Economics and Business co-administers the recruitment and the routine management of the program.

5 partial scholarships are provided for the 2009/2010 academic year.

1. Categories of Applicants, Duration of Scholarship and Language of Instruction
1) This program sponsors 5 language scholar
2) The duration of the scholarship is 1 year.

2. Application
Applicants should apply to Education Forum for Asia via the Chinese embassy in their home country or the embassy of their home country in China. Applications will be received from the beginning of January to the end of May, 2009.

3. Eligibility
1)  Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals in good health.
2)  Educational background and age limits:
Language scholars must have graduated from high school and be under the age of 45.

4. Details of the Scholarship
1) This partial scholarship only covers tuition (or research) fees. 
2) The student will be responsible for all other expenses. This includes the following expenses: 
double room accommodation 10,000 RMB; basic food expenses 10,000 RMB; city travel and other incidental expenses 5,000 RMB; and insurance charges 600 RMB per year.

5. Application Materials
The applicants must provide the following materials correctly and truthfully.
 
1)Filled application form for Capital University of Economics and Business – Study in China,  one original and one photocopy,in Chinese or English.
2)Notarized copy of highest diploma and academic record. If applicants are university students     or already employed, they should also provide verification documents. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must have attached Chinese or English translations.  Transcripts (notarized copy); transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must have attached Chinese or English translations.
3)A study or research plan written in Chinese or English (no less than 400 words).
4)A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form filled out in English. The medical examinations must cover all the items listed on the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, official stamp of the hospital, or a stamped photograph of the applicant will be considered invalid. The medical examination results will be valid for 6 months. All applicants are kindly requested to take this factor into consideration when determining the time to take the medical examination.
5)The photocopy of valid passport, the front page

The abovementioned materials should be received by the Education Forum for Asia by the latest June 1st, 2009. Application materials will NOT be returned regardless of whether the applicant is accepted or not.

6. Approval and Notification
1) Education Forum for will review all application materials from the appointed authorities and is authorized to make necessary adjustments on the applied institutions, disciplines and duration of study. Forum will directly contact the applicant or the applicant guarantor whenever necessary. Qualified applications will be forwarded to Capital University of Economics and Business and the final decision whether to admit the applicants or not will be made. The application will be seen as invalid and will not be processed if the application materials are inconsistent with recruitment regulations, or materials are incomplete.
2) Finalized placements, disciplines and duration of study are, in principle, not to be changed.
3) Education Forum for Asia will have the Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202) sent to the applicant within a week after documents get received.
