On 23 July 2008, representatives from the Business School of Grant MacEwan College (Canada) visited the Education Forum for Asia (EFA).

 

At 1:30 p.m. EFA arranged a visit for the representatives of Grant MacEwan College to Beijing University of Technology (BUT), a major cooperative university of the EFA. The representatives, with professors from the Economics and Management School of Beijing University of Technology, discussed possible collaboration and mutual development. The meeting was hosted by Doctor Huang Haifeng, Director of China’s Research Center for Economic Transition. Professor Wu Guowei, Administrative Vice President of the Economics and Management School of BUT, Professor Zhao Xiaoxia, a renowned expert in human resources, Doctor Zhang Jianping, a contributing research fellow of the National Development and Reform Commission, exchanged views with Mr. Mike Henry, Associate Dean of the Business School of Grant MacEwan College, Doctor Lily Jiao Li and Doctor William Wei, on teaching and training for undergraduate students, scientific research cooperation, teacher and student exchange, etc.. Both sides hoped to build cooperative relationships in the near future. Ms. Isabella Liu, Executive Director of EFA, Mr. Peter Jing from EFA, among others gave presentations during the meeting.

 

After the gathering, representatives of Grant MacEwan College called on Mr. Yao Wang, Secretary-General of EFA to amiably discuss matters such as teacher training, teacher and student exchange, international scholarships and internships, among other things. Both sides indicated their support for a cooperative agreement to be signed so as to start cooperative projects in the near future.
