On 10-12 July 2008, the secretariat of Education Forum for Asia (EFA) was invited to attend the International Youth Dance Festival 2008.

On the morning of 11 July, Mr. Yao Wang, Secretary-General of EFA, and Ms. Isabella Liu, Executive Director of EFA, paid a visit to Mr. Wu Rongke, President of the Macao Foundation, to exchange ideas on the preparatory work for the EFA 2008 Annual Conference and the Asian student's scholarship program, among other things. President Wu and Selectman He also attended the meeting. That afternoon, Secretary-General Yao Wang and Executive Director Isabella Liu attended the closing ceremony of the International Youth Dance Festival 2008.

The International Youth Dance Festival 2008 was organized by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (Macao) in collaboration with the Education Forum for Asia, and sponsored by the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau. A total of 14 non-Chinese dance groups took part in the dance festival. Groups from Korea, Slovenia, Estonia, U.S.A., Philippines, Great Britain, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand participated. The Dance Festival consisted of 3 parts: parade, indoor performances and outdoor performances. The International Youth Dance Festival has been held every two years and has become the focus of global attention. This Dance Festival provided young dancers from different countries and regions around the world with a platform for developing friendship, conducting cultural exchanges and displaying diverse dance styles.

The resounding success of this visit will advance collaboration and the exchange of ideas between the Macao Foundation, the Macao Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, and EFA for development of education in Asia.
