Dr Hilary du Cros has a proven track record in tourism and cultural heritage management research, scholarship and teaching. She has worked in the tourism field for the past eight years and has over 20 years experience in cultural heritage management. Dr du Cros is an expert member of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) International Scientific Committee on Cultural Tourism.
Prior to entering academia, she owned and operated one of Australia largest cultural heritage consulting firms, where she supervised or conducted over 250 projects, including a number of projects funded by the National Estate Grants Programme.
She has published over 70 scholarly books, journal articles, conference papers, monographs and book chapters. Eleven of these publications concern the management of World Heritage Sites. Her most recent books include: Cultural Heritage Management in China: Preserving the Pearl River Delta Cities (2007) with Y.S.F. Lee; and Cultural Tourism: The Partnership between Tourism and Cultural Heritage Management (2002) with Bob McKercher.
