Yasuyuki AOSHIMA
Director and Representative
Yasuyuki Aoshima has an academic background in Civil Engineering and holds a Doctorate of Engineering (1977) from the University of Tokyo. From 1970 to 1975 he worked as a teaching and research assistant at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne. From 1976 to 1982 he worked as an engineer at Nippon Kokan (steel making, ship-building and construction company), Japan.
Aoshima joined UNESCO in 1982 as Purchasing Officer. In 1988 he became the Chief of Budgetary Control and Monitoring at the Section of Fellowships and Equipment Division. In 1993 he became Chief of the Fellowship Section of UNESCO for a few months before being transferred to the Natural Science Sector as Programme Specialist at the Engineering and Technology Division responsible for the University-Industry-Science-Partnership Programme (UNISPAR) and the World Solar Programme 1996-2005. From 1997 to 2001 he worked at the Jakarta Office as Senior Programme Specialist for Science, Technology and Informatics. In September 2001 he was transferred to the UNESCO Office Beijing Office as Director and Representative of UNESCO to the People's Republic of China, Mongolia, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

青岛泰之阁下于1977年取得东京大学土木工程博士学位。1970-1975, 执教于洛桑瑞士联邦技术学院。1976-1982年,任日本钢管公司高级工程师。1982年任联合国教科文组织采购专员。1988年,任研究装备部总预算控制与监督。1993年任联合国教科文组织研究部主任,几个月后任工程科技部自然科技部门的项目专家,1996-2005年之间主要负责大学-工业科学-关系项目和世界太阳能项目。1997-2001,作为资深项目专家工作于雅加达办公室,主要负责科学,技术和信息。2001年9月起任联合国教科文组织北京办公室主任和蒙古,韩国,日本,朝鲜的联合国教科文组织代表。
