延吉概况

延吉市是延边朝鲜族自治州的首府，是吉林省东部最大的工业、商贸、旅游城市。

延吉地处中国、俄罗斯、朝鲜三国交界，与俄罗斯的海参崴、朝鲜的清津形成东北亚大三角，是东北亚经济圈腹地“金三角”内中方的支撑点。

延吉市幅员面积1350平方公里，总人口42万人，其中朝鲜族占57.7%，保留着浓郁的朝鲜族民族特色。

延吉市的气候呈大陆性气候特点，四季分明，年平均气温摄氏5.8度，全年无霜期146天，年平均降水量583毫米，平均日照2294小时。

改革开放以来，延吉市经济迅速发展，形成了以食品、医药、包装建材及高新技术为支柱和优势的工业格局，生态农业、特色农业发展势头强劲，民族特色的旅游经济蓬勃发展，信息、会计、咨询、法律服务等新兴服务业快速成长，交通、批零贸易、餐饮服务等传统服务业稳步增强，连续六年在全省四十一个县（市）综合经济实力评比中名列第一。

2005年延吉市在全国综合经济实力百强县（市）名列第93位。

About Yanji City

Yanji city is the capital of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture; it is the biggest city of industry, trade, tourism in the east of Jilin Province.

Yanji is located in the tri-junction of three countries of China, Russia and DPRK, formulated the great triangle of Northeast Asia together with Vladivostok of Russia and Chongjin of DPRK, it is the supporting point of China side in the center of “Golden Triangle” of Northeast Asia economic circle.

The area of Yanji city is 1,350 Km², total population is 420 thousand, of which Korean nationality makes up 57.7%, who have retained all that strong characteristics of Korean nationality.

The climate of Yanji city marks the characteristics of continental climate, with clearly four seasons, annual average temperature 5.8℃æfrost-free period 202 days, average annual precipitation 449mm and average annual sunlight 2383 hours.

Since Reform and Open Policy began, the economic development in Yanji city has been speeded up, took shape the industrial layout with food stuff, medicine, packaging & building material and new and hi-tech as its pillars and advantages; eco-agriculture and characteristic agriculture is taking a rapid growth; the tourism economy is flourished with characteristics of nationalities; the newly boomed service industries in information, accounting, consulting and legal services etc. is developing rapidly; the traditional service industries in communication, wholesale & retail trade and catering services etc. is strengthening steadily; it has ranked first place for 6 consecutive years among 41 counties (cities) of Jilin province on comprehensive economic strength.

In 2005, Yanji City ranked 93 of National Top 100 Counties (Cities) on comprehensive economic strength.
